Bright Press Collaboration

The artworks in this collaboration are all inspired by places around the house that my Border Collie Basil likes to hang out. He always seems to get into the weirdest places and it brings so much joy to our lives. I wanted to share these special moments and immortalise them in illustrated form.

Over the last few months, I have been working in collaboration with Ann from Bright Press. The final pieces of this project have been illustrated by myself and expertly letterpress printed by Ann. This collaboration has been such an amazing process, learning the in’s and out’s of letter press printing from Ann and creating beautiful physical prints that depict moments in my life right now. I can’t thank Ann enough for her support and guidance on this project and I hope that there are many more things to come in the future. Letter press printing is such a beautiful and rewarding process so I wanted to document as much of this process as I could, for anyone interested in the behind the scenes of this collaboration.

The above photos depict Ann in her element and showcase some of the process involved in creating letter press prints. This method of printing is truly a fine art and it is so magical to see these historical machines at work. This printing machine is just one of many that reside at the Bright Press Studio, it really is a very cool place to visit if you are ever in the area.

I’m so in love with how these prints have turned out and I can’t wait to proudly display mine in my toilet. Because what better place to put it right? Never thought I’d be making toilet art but here I am! If you would like to own one of these very special prints they are available on my Etsy but only as a very limited run so get in quick!
